Day 95: String art

Day 95 of #365 Creative #Ideas to do with your kids: Have you ever tried making string art? It can be time-consuming, depending on the shape or words you have chosen, but you could make it a project to do with your child.
What you need:
Ball of wool, string, embroidery thread or cotton
Nails
Block of wood or cork board
Pencil
TOOLS:
Hammer
1. Design the artwork first, drawing the outline in pencil, sticking to simple geometric shapes is easiest.
2. Use a bigger pilot nail to make the initial holes, then hammer in the smaller nails.
3. Start wrapping the wool or string around the nails, in any pattern you wish. Experiment with the number of wraps you need to make the shape stand out more.
TIP:
You can wrap the nails with sewing cotton as well – double the cotton up to make it more visible.
