Day 54: Play dough

Day 54 of #365 Creative #Ideas to do with your kids: Have you ever made your own play dough? It is so simple to make, and can add hours of creative play to your little one’s day. #creative play #craft #activity.
Ingredients
2 cups water
1⁄2 cup salt
4 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp oil
food colouring
2 cups cake flour

How to make the play dough:
1. Place all the ingredients (except the food colouring and cake flour) in a saucepan over a medium heat
and bring to the boil.
2. Remove from the heat and stir through the food colouring.
3. Stir in the cake flour and knead until well combined.
4. Store in an airtight container – play dough will keep for three months in the fridge. This recipe makes
10–12 tennis ball-sized balls of dough.

Tips:
✏✏ You can add essential oils or food essence. Vanilla flavoured play dough is lovely, but watch out that the little ones do not eat it!
✏✏ Add glitter for a sparkly effect. The older kids love this.
